A subjective approach to the complexity and the special character of this city — new perspectives and a look at and behind a seemingly immaculate facade. Personal thoughts and perspectives combined with historical and cultural backgrounds provide diverse insights into the construct of the city of Vienna.
Vienna. Cosmopolitan city. Art and culture metropolis. Hardly any other is so multi-layered and special — especially in terms of culture, architecture, art and design. However, this city is not only defined by tourist attractions around St. Stephen's Cathedral and Schönbrunn Palace or a rich artistic and cultural offering. On closer inspection, Vienna does not correspond in many parts to the common understanding of beauty and perfection with picture-book character. It is precisely the interplay, the clash and not least the contrasts of many individual areas that make this city with its different faces and stories so appealing and interesting — from significant historical sites that can hardly be surpassed in opulence to everyday scenarios that at first glance seem trivial and unremarkable.
